Broncos 2026 Fantasy Football Outlook: Is Wil Lutz a Reliable Starter?
The Denver Broncos enter the 2026 season with one of the NFL’s most reliable kickers in Wil Lutz. After another efficient season in 2025, Lutz once again projects to provide Denver with stability in the kicking game. However, fantasy football does not always reward efficiency, and that distinction makes him a more difficult player to evaluate than his statistics might suggest.
While Lutz remains one of the league’s most accurate kickers, his fantasy outlook is less straightforward. His efficiency makes him an appealing option on paper, but his workload raises legitimate questions about whether he can consistently produce starter-level fantasy numbers.
Lutz converted 87.5% of his field goal attempts during the 2025 regular season, connecting on 28 of 32 attempts while making all 39 of his extra-point attempts. He also drilled four field goals from 50 yards or longer, including a season-long 57-yarder, and finished the year with 123 total points.
Lutz was especially dependable on routine attempts, converting all 10 field goals from 20 to 29 yards and all 11 attempts from 30 to 39 yards. He also connected on three of five attempts from 40 to 49 yards and four of six attempts from beyond 50 yards, further illustrating both his accuracy and leg strength.
Despite that efficiency, Lutz simply wasn’t asked to kick enough field goals to become a top fantasy option. His 32 field goal attempts ranked behind 13 NFL kickers, while his 39 extra-point attempts tied for 10th in the league. He attempted one field goal or fewer in six games during the 2025 season and attempted more than three extra points only four times. Those fluctuations made him difficult to trust on a week-to-week basis despite his impressive accuracy.
Fantasy managers should view Lutz as a matchup-dependent streaming option rather than a set-and-forget starter. His accuracy gives him a dependable floor, but his limited volume makes him difficult to trust as an every-week fantasy option. Lutz currently does not carry an ADP on FantasyPros, which accurately reflects his status as a streaming option rather than a kicker fantasy managers should prioritize on draft day.
