Broncos Select Texas A&M Defensive Tackle Tyler Onyedim with No. 66 Overall Pick in 2026 NFL Draft
The Denver Broncos selected Texas A&M Aggies defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim with the No. 66 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Denver traded back from the No. 62 overall selection prior to choosing Onyedim at No. 66. The Broncos acquired the No. 66 overall pick and a 2026 sixth-round selection (No. 182) from the Buffalo Bills in the trade.
Onyedim is versatile defensive linemen with experience at both defensive tackle and defensive end. That versatility could position him as an ideal replacement for John Franklin-Myers, who left Denver to sign with the Tennessee Titans this offseason.
In his lone season at Texas A&M, Onyedim recorded a career-high 2.5 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss and 48 total tackles. In four previous seasons with the Iowa State Cyclones, he tallied a combined 12 tackles for loss, three sacks and 90 total tackles. He earned Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors with Iowa State in 2023.
Onyedim may lack a true standout trait, but he also brings a well-rounded profile with no glaring weaknesses. He projects as a one-gap penetrator and a dependable rotational piece early in his career. Onyedim joins a talented Broncos defensive front, which includes Zach Allen, D.J. Jones, Malcolm Roach, Eyioma Uwazurike, and 2025 third-round pick Sai'vion Jones.
